Driving Licence - No More Counterpart
No more Driving Licence Counterpart - What to do if you want to test drive a car
As of the 8th June 2015 you no longer need the paper counter part to your driving licence. There is a new service that replaces the paper counterpart of your licence available on the gov.uk website.
You can use this service to:
- View your driving record, eg vehicles you can drive, any penalties you have etc.
- Create a licence ‘check code’ to share your driving record with someone, eg hire a vehicle, claim courtesy vehicle, take a test drive vehicle on the road etc.
The ‘check code’ will allow someone to see:
- What vehicles you can drive any penalty points or disqualifications you have.
- The last 8 characters of your driving licence number.
To do this, please click here to visit the gov.uk site.
